Lior Solomons-Wise is a jazz pianist, music producer, educator and award-winning composer and arranger with a diverse portfolio spanning multiple genres.​
Lior was awarded the prestigious Dankworth prize for Jazz Composition in 2023. His piece 'Mortar', written for septet was performed at Milton Court Concert Hall by the Guildhall Jazz Orchestra in March 2024. Lior composes regularly for his quintet. The groups debut performance was in 2023 at the EFG Jazz Festival, supporting the Ari Hoenig trio. Performing highlights include, Pizza Express Jazz Club Dean Street (NYJO), 606 Club (Tom Smith Quartet), Milton Court Concert Hall for the EFG Jazz Festival 2023 (Lior Solomons-Wise Quintet), Karamel Jazz Club (Lior Solomons-Wise Quintet), MAP Studio Cafe (Lior Solomons-Wise Quartet). ​Lior's arrangement for big band of the tune 'Armageddon' was performed by the Guildhall Jazz Orchestra at the Milton Court studio theatre featuring former tenor saxophonist of the Jazz Messengers Jean Toussaint on the 16th May 2024 in a tribute concert to the great Wayne Shorter.
​Lior began studying classical piano at the age of 6 years old. At the age of 16, he began to take the practice of improvisation seriously. Lior attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama Jazz summer school in 2018, receiving tuition from internationally renowned jazz musicians, in particular Jason Rebello and Jean Toussaint. Lior later studied with the Junior Guildhall department on a Saturday for 1 year when he was 18 (2020-2021). Lior is now a full time undergraduate student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he studies jazz and classical piano with Nikki Iles, Ivo Neame and Barry Green.
​This is a multifaceted musician, working frequently as a performer, composer, arranger and producer. Although primarily a pianist, Lior also plays guitar, bass guitar and drums and regularly records all of these instruments in his work as a producer. ​​Lior released his debut single on streaming platforms in august 2020. Called 'Be Free', the track blends elements of R&B and jazz influences. The track was fully produced, composed and performed by Lior.
